Magickal Monday Adornments~ Self-Love

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe,
deserve your love and affection
- Buddha

February the month of Love.  I, like most I'm sure, thought of the love shared in February as a romantic love but last year I was introduced to a new concept...well to me it was new... Self-Love.  We are fast to give away love and compassion to others but we too deserve our love, acceptance, compassion and kindness.  We often are hard on ourselves, criticizing, judging and full of negative thoughts...we would never treat or speak to a friend that way, so why not start treating ourselves like our best friends.

So, I decided to declare the month of February as Self-Love month...I'm committing to do little things everyday to show how much I love myself ... to remind myself how much I deserve to be loved and how much I am love.  Showing love and compassion for ourselves, as silly or insignificant as it may sound...is so powerful and life changing.  You will find that it will shift your perspective and you will find yourself in a place of knowing and accepting yourself as being perfect just the way you are no matter your situation or circumstance.

The ways to show yourself love are endless...be gentle with yourself, speak lovingly and be forgiving, give yourself permission to take a break and take care of YOU first.  Buy yourself some flowers, a gift to signify your love for self.  Give yourself some wonderful home spa treats, like rose petal milk baths or other wonderful loving treats.  Buy your own self a box of decadent chocolates, take yourself out to the movies or dinner...or just dance, with yourself!  But most importantly...tell yourself "I love you"!  That's right let yourself know you love yourself, at first it won't be easy but with a little practice it will feel natural just as it should be...need a little encouragement...adorn yourself with Rose Quartz!

“Stone of Gentle Love”, assists in self-love and self-worth. Takes away fears, resentment and anger and replaces those feelings with feelings of higher self-esteem and confidence.

For now, I'll leave you with a wonderful and powerful poem...

As I Began to Love Myself

I found that anguish and emotional suffering
are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody
As I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time
was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this
person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT".

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “MATURITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance,
I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens
at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm.
Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”.

As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time,
and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do
and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in
my own rhythm. Today I call it “SIMPLICITY".

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for
my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew
me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude
a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF".

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since
I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is “MODESTY".

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry
about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING
is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT".

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my
mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this
connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART".

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems
with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing
new worlds are born.Today I know THAT IS “LIFE”!
