Earthing...funny name huh? Well it's another name for barefooting. I've often been asked "Why barefoot breathing"...or "Why barefoot" in general. My simple answer has always been...
...because it makes me feel good.
It always has...ever since I can remember I always opted for being barefoot. Now I chose to do it more consciously and include some deep breathing or meditating when I'm out in nature barefoot. And I do it everywhere I can...in my backyard, the local parks, by the river, hiking and of course when ever I can make it to the ocean...my sanctuary.
As I said it's been a practice of mine for years...and now that I think about it, it's been a natural instinct to help me ground and connect with
nature in a more Sacred Organic way.
There's even a science around this. Here's a video I've come across twice now through various connections, where it share the benefits of connecting skin to earth, where I found out why I feel so good after spending time outside barefoot and where
I learned the word Earthing...
Also...remember what I mentioned about Reflexology, in Natural Family Healing...that it's based on the notion that each body part is represented on the hands and feet...well wouldn't it make sense then that when we walk barefoot not only are we massaging and stimulating various organs, but we are also regenerating them with the negative ions, our Mother Earth so generously offers us... check out this diagram I found it show where each organ is in relationship to the soles of your feet..
So, having a daily barefooting practice is a wonderful way to balance your Mind, Body and Spirit, don't you think ♥
PS...I've been exploring Essential Oils and blogged about a wonderful blend to use on those Colorado wintery days when I'm in need of grounding but can find the ground with all the snow, nor do I want to go barefoot on it...
Beautiful post, Allurynn!
