Day 29 of 29 Faces!

I did it...I made it through to day 29 of the 29 Faces Challenge!  Thank you Ayala Art for an incredible challenge and Effy Wild for turning me on to it.  I have to admit at first I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to keep up...not just due to time, but due to my inner critic.  Now I'm thrilled I did, I let go of having to finish every face to completion and I've learned to be gentler with my art, while having some wonderful practice with faces along the way.

Here's my last face...a quite, going within face, as many have been lately.

My plan is to go back and finish out the sketches I started...or use some of them in other pieces, I'll be sure to share ♥

Catching up on 29 Faces

I'm back!  We had an awesome weekend at the Pagosa Fiber Festival.  Met some really wonderful people from all over and did well for our first Fiber Festival.  The weather was a little rough as we experienced some very high winds. Had to cinch down the tents with ratchet tie downs and despite using heavy duty spikes, Saturday night's high winds blew so hard it broke one of our spikes in half, luckily the other spikes held strong.   So by the time the day was over we were extremely beat and wind blown.

Snap shot of the booth before we broke it down on Sunday

Everyone enjoyed seeing pictures of our herd and seeing the process of our fibers from rovings, to yarns to finished products.

Hubby did so well on his demonstration of the use of a Hackle to blend fiber, that we sold out on the Hackles he brought to the show!  My fingerless gloves did well too, they always do, as I can never keep enough of them in the shop...as did the rovings, yarns and felted products.  All in all it was a great fair.

Afterwards we could not leave without treating ourselves to the Pagosa Hot Springs, sitting in the therapeutic mineral healing waters was heavenly.

Of course, despite having a busy weekend I did make time to sketch my daily faces.  I thought I'd have time to post them on my blog in the evenings, but I have to admit by the time we were done and got back to the hotel I was beat.

So, you get to see the 4 faces today...

Day 24 of 29 Faces

Today I thought I'd try something new and different.  I was browsing through the internet for animated trees and came across Jeff Ward and his tree faces.  He does amazing pen work and so my face today was inspired by his tree faces.

We're getting ready to take off for the Pagoas Fiber Festival so I'll be gone all weekend.  I'll still be sketching, I'm sure I'll find time for that, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to blog, we'll see.  If not then I'll post Friday, Saturday and Sunday's faces in Sunday's blog post.

In the meantime I'll leave you with some pics of some of the luscious products we'll be showing.

These are some spindle tops we hand painted.  Hubby will be putting them together with the rest of their pieces.  We plan on selling them alone and in kits, didn't they come out awesome?

Hubby also made a few of the Wool Combs and  Hackles to sell.  He's been creating some awesome rovings and yarns too. Like this Roses in Spring time or this O so soft alpaca blend ...yummm.

Of course I'll have a selection of my knitted goods lots more fingerless gloves and berets, which we have yet to list in the shop...they'll get there eventually.   See ya tomorrow or for sure by Sunday, have a magickal weekend ♥

Silence...Powerful Healing and 29 Faces

Aside from all the arting I've been doing, I've also been practicing lots of silent meditation.  I've been finding much healing in silence.   When you live a crazy busy life and you're an overachiever, work obsessed, prone to stress type A like me...well you welcome silence.  I'm still learning to still my mind, I have what Hindus call "Monkey Mind"...all that inner dialog and chatter some of us have more than others.  Silent meditation helps me connect to my heart and listen with it while I communicate with my Guides and Angels.  There is so much to be heard in silence.

Today's face reflects that part of me, connecting and listening with my heart...

Day 22 of 29 Faces

Today I worked on my Life Book lesson 19...a little behind but that's why I love the eCourse we can do it at our own pace.  This week was about being present with ourselves and doing a practice called Focus...then arting it.  We journaled under our art...that's the healing that I get through art journaling, being able to dump it all out good or bad and then arting over it, transforming it....

The phoenix my transformation symbol...I've been wanting change, yet I find myself still holding on to the old...time to breathe, let go and release...

Barefoot Breathing and 29 Faces

Given the choice, I go barefoot more than not...in the winter my feet itch to go barefoot outside and feel the grass and earth under my feet.  It's how I connect to the earth and to nature, it's how I feed my soul with Mother Earths's energy and it's how I ground myself to her and release what no longer service me, allowing her to take it and transform it.

I came across Barefoot Breathing through the Goddess Circle.  Where I met Jackie, who describes herself as part faerie, part Celtic Goddess from the wild west coast of Scotland, she uses flower and crystal essences to heal people's emotions.  She along with her partner Jason, a Romani Gypsy created Barefoot Breathing, an eCourse offered through Essence of Wild, offering a soul deep re-connection to the heart of nature...our Mother Earth.

There's a handful of eCourse I have taken, support and totally believe in and this is one of them...the mission behind what they are doing is so powerful to me..."By developing heart-centered connections with a global community we can heal and honour the earth together" Love it!

The next Barefoot Breathing session starts on May 27th.  I hope to be there, will you be there?

Today I worked on another Angel inspired by Lori Franklin, offering the message I was given today while doing this week's meditation on "Angels in my Studio".

Fun Filled Day and 29 Faces

Solar Eclipse 2012 taken by Chelsi Lombardo

Solar Eclipse today!  It was way to sunny here at sunset to see it or photograph it.  Though the sunlight did go dim, the lighting was weird and the shadows were odd and fuzzy the sun was way to bright for pictures. Then my daughter Chelsi text me from Cali where it was a cloudy afternoon and sent me the picture she took above.  Pretty darn cool huh?

We spent most of the day today at Narraguinnep Reservoir with the boys.  It was nice, relaxing and fun.   I saw this awesome tree, barely hanging on to the side of the hill, I suppose with the dry winter we had the reservoir was much lower than usual.

By the end of the afternoon the two youngest were tuckered out...

We came home had a nice barbecue and tried to catch the Eclipse shadows...and of course I got my 20th face done...

Day 19 of 29 Faces

Here's face number 19...I'm really enjoying creating these faces.  I believe the practice is phenomenal and I'm definitely getting more confident, they are coming into being more naturally now.  I had fun embellishing her with her headpiece and the pearls in her hair...

Today was an artful day, we spent the earlier part of the day painting the drop spinals we're gonna be selling at the Pagoas Fiber Festival next week.  Hubby has been creating all sorts of handmade wonderful things to include in our booth aside from the fiber and the handmade alpaca fashions that will be there.

I myself have also been gearing up for the Summer Artisan Market that I'll be  doing up in Telluride this Summer.  So, I've been a busy girl but it's all good.  I'll share pictures of my new creations with you all soon ♥

Day 18 of 29 Faces

Today it's a sketch of another angel and I'm playing with hair again...kind of funky swirls, lol

Day 17 of 29 Faces

I'm still going strong...keeping up with my daily faces.  Today I thought I was only going to get a sketch out since I have a headache that won't quit.  But after I sketched her I was called to color her in and used my Derwent Coloursoft pencils.  This is my first time coloring a face in pencils I had to use odd colors to get the shading (which I'm still learning to do).  But I like how she turned out...

Also, I've been meaning to share what my Hubby helped me create.  I was wanting to buy one of those tub pencil holders and mount it on the wall so I could lay my markers down, as I've read they work better stored this way.  Anyway, he helped me create this version out of PVC pipes...cool or what!

Day 16 of 29 Faces

I've really been enjoying our Angels in My Studio community and all that's been shared there.  Today's face is of an angel we created for Week 2's lesson by Lori Franklin of Sparkly Heart Studios.

Day 15 of 29 Faces

Today I attempted a masculine face...I added a guy to yesterday's sketch...it was really difficult to give him harsh masculine lines but I'm pretty happy with it...well except for the fact that his faced ended up on the crease of the book...but it's all good.

Here it is finished....

Magickal Adornments and 29 Faces

SNEAK
     PEEK!

So what do you think??

You are all the first to see my new creations...I'll be listing them tomorrow and more are on the way!  Any color combo suggestions?

I've been loving all the Bohemian stuff out there and someone in the Goddess Circle mentioned they thought my barefoot sandals were very Boho...so...I've been thinking about how I could make my own style of Boho bracelets...so here they are...Creations by Moonlight's Boho Bracelets...do you like them?  I love them!

It's been another busy day...so my #14 Face is another simple sketch only...I was inspired by a beautiful drawing by La, one of my fellow Life Bookers.

Happy Mother's Day and 29 Faces

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there.  Today my dear friend Sara shared a wonderful blog post in which she called "This is to Mother You"...which is also the title one of my favorite songs.  A song I first heard during my Inner Child Workshop 10 years ago with Life Coach Geoff Laughton.  It's such a beautiful song...reminding us we are never alone...even if we weren't mothered when we were young.

Today was a hard day for me, as my little one is sick and seemed to only be getting worse, what I thought was just another cold ended up being strep throat, which we later found out when we ended up in the ER.  I was really concerned that his fever kept spiking despite the Tylenol and that he had developed a whole body rash...which later we find out is know as scarlet fever.  Though it sounded serious, it's not as serious as it used to be, it's just the body reacting to the toxin produced by the strep throat, and it didn't mean the infection is any way more serious that a strep throat without a rash.  Poor little person...now he's on antibiotics and seems to be doing much better.

My face for today is a simple sketch...still playing with hair styles...
